A Walk in Winter Woods
Aloft above, the white pine boughs, so laden with the snow, they bow, and through the woods a wondrous scene of snow upon the evergreen.
The meadows withered grassy blade now under snowy blanket laid. “So quiet”, very seldom heard a chirping squirrel or song of bird.
The tracks of several white tail deer first follow path then off they veer. Perhaps I’ll even have the chance to see them with a fleeting glance.
I walk beyond the path to find a trail the rabbit left behind, while sky and hills begin to blend as clouds that bring more snow descend.
The sky now gray, the hour late, one moment more to contemplate.
To home now turn the tinder spark, and flames will burn before the dark.

I enjoyed your poem with its blanket of Snow, wiping all sound too, but still with so much of nature to see. Good rhyme and a lovely flow, look forward to some more.

Thank you for your kind comment alytatt. This could become a very good poetry forum if it could gain more participation.

This is beautifully written. A very wonderful piece.
I enjoyed the read.

What is the use of poetry if no one reads it or comments on it -- it just becomes idle words on a page.
